With so much going on today with identity theft and crazy stalkers, it’s crucial that we monitor how much personal information we share. People have become so slack with all these new connection sites like Facebook and twitter etc. Everyone goes and posts all their personal thoughts, locations and step by step details of their days. They share personal pictures and photos that are way too revealing. People post so much of their personal life on these sites that now employers and potential employers are looking up their employees. They have even been using this personal information as terms for termination and grounds to refuse to hire.
Facebook seems to be making new changes weekly to their site and what information they reveal. However they tend to neglect to inform the users of all their changes. This is why I felt it necessary to share with you a change that Facebook made recently. They have now made everyones phone numbers public on their profile page. So now everyone one your page has access to your digits! Oh yes, all 989 of your friends that you have never met; they now have access to your number.
Good thing is, there is a semi easy fix.
- log in to your account, click
- select edit my profile
- go to contact information
- delete your phone number
- save your changes
